If you’ve attended an event at Riverside Pavilion recently, there’s a pretty good chance you’ve seen Brianna around. But what you might not know is that before Brianna ever worked an event here, she was actually a guest at one.
And apparently, we made a pretty good first impression. 😉
Brianna has now been part of the Riverside Pavilion team for about a year and a half, but her story with Riverside started simply by attending an event at the venue.
She loved Riverside, got to know Heather, and eventually decided that maybe this was somewhere she could see herself working too.
After befriending Heather, Brianna interviewed for a position, got the job, and officially went from being one of our guests to being part of the team that helps make those events happen.
From Attending Events to Helping Create Them
There's something pretty special about having an employee who experienced Riverside from the guest side first.
Before she knew what happened behind the scenes, Brianna knew what it felt like to walk into Riverside for an event. She knew the atmosphere, the people, and the feeling of the venue.
Now, she gets to be on the other side of it.
For the past year and a half, Brianna has helped us welcome guests, work events, and create the same kind of experiences that originally made her interested in Riverside.
And when we asked Brianna what she loves most about working here, her answer wasn't the waterfront view or even the events.
It was the people.
“I Never Dread Coming to Work”
Let's be real. How many people can actually say that?
Brianna says she genuinely never dreads coming to work at Riverside because of the people she gets to work alongside.
According to Bri, we're all pretty fun and nice.
We'll take it. 😂
But in all seriousness, that's something we're incredibly proud of.
Events can mean long days, moving pieces, last minute changes, lots of people, and plenty happening behind the scenes that guests may never see. Having a team that genuinely enjoys working together makes a huge difference.
Riverside isn't a massive venue where employees barely know one another. We're a team, and over time, that team starts to feel a whole lot more like a little Riverside family.
We laugh together. We solve problems together. We celebrate with our clients together. And sometimes we come up with some pretty crazy event ideas together.
Brianna has become part of all of it.
Her Favorite Events? The Different Ones.
When we asked Brianna which events she enjoys the most, her answer made perfect sense for Riverside.
The unique ones.
While we absolutely love the weddings, celebrations, parties, and traditional events that happen here, there's something really fun about watching Riverside completely transform for an event that's a little outside the box.
One of Brianna's favorites has been King of Karaoke, one of the unique events hosted here at Riverside.
Those are the events where you really get to see the personality of the venue and our team come out.
One weekend we may be helping with a beautiful waterfront wedding, and the next we're watching local singers take the microphone for a karaoke competition.
That's part of what makes working at Riverside interesting. You really never know what might be happening next.
And we're hoping to do even MORE of those events.
Karaoke, themed events, fundraisers, community gatherings, competitions, vendor events, and ideas that might make someone initially ask, “Wait... you can do that at Riverside?”
Yes. You probably can.
And Bri will most likely be there having just as much fun as everyone else.
The People Behind the Events
When you see a finished event, you see the decorations, food, music, tables, flowers, and people having a great time.
What you don't always see are the people behind it.
Every event at Riverside involves a team of people working to make sure the space is ready and our guests have a great experience.
That's why we want to spend a little more time introducing you to the people who make Riverside what it is.
Because Riverside isn't just a building on the water.
It's Heather.
It's Brianna.
It's our staff.
It's our Preferred Vendors.
It's the people setting up tables, answering questions, coordinating details, welcoming guests, cleaning up after everyone goes home, and coming back to do it all over again for the next celebration.
And it's pretty special when someone attends Riverside as a guest, loves the experience enough to want to work here, and a year and a half later is still saying she doesn't dread coming to work.
We think that says a lot about Brianna, but we also think it says something about the little community we've created here.
From Guest to Riverside Family
Brianna's Riverside story started with attending an event.
She met Heather.
She fell in love with the venue.
She interviewed.
She got the job.
And a year and a half later, she's become an important part of the Riverside team.
Bri, we're so lucky to have you here, and we're even happier to hear that you actually like coming to work with us. 😂
