We're back with another Riverside Pavilion employee spotlight, and this time we're introducing you to one of our friends, Tom!
Tom has been working at Riverside for about two and a half years now, which means he's seen his fair share of weddings, celebrations, and some pretty interesting events along the way.
One of our favorite things about Riverside is that there's always something different happening, and it turns out that's one of Tom's favorite things about working here, too!
Two and a Half Years and Counting!
When we asked Tom what he enjoys most about working at Riverside, his answer was pretty simple, his coworkers.
We love hearing that, especially because so much of what we do here depends on everyone working together.
Anyone who has worked in the event industry knows that things can get a little hectic. Between getting everything ready, welcoming guests, and making sure events run smoothly, there's usually plenty going on behind the scenes here at the Pavilion.
Having a good group of people to work with makes those busy days a whole lot better.
And according to Tom, the people he works with are one of the best parts of his job.
We might be a little biased, but we think he's got a pretty great group of coworkers, too!
You Never Know What's Coming to Riverside (Wink wink)
Another thing Tom loves about Riverside is the variety of events that come through our doors.
And we can definitely understand why.
While we're known for hosting beautiful waterfront weddings, we also get to see our venue used for all kinds of celebrations, some of which are a little more unexpected than others.
One of the events Tom mentioned enjoying was a luau featuring fire performers!
Yes, actual fire performers! 🔥
That's one of the fun things about working here. One day you could be surrounded by wedding flowers and formal attire, and another day you're watching a tropical-themed celebration with live entertainment.
It's always interesting to see what people come up with, especially when they bring an idea here to Riverside that we haven't seen before.
And those unique events are something we hope to continue bringing to the area!
A Little Something Different
We've talked quite a bit lately about wanting our venue to become a place where people feel comfortable bringing their creative event ideas.
Whether it's a themed party, a fundraiser, a karaoke competition, a vendor market, or something completely different, we love seeing people make the venue their own.
It's also fun for our staff!! Funnily enough, Tom will tell you that himself.
When you're working events regularly, having something new and unexpected on the calendar gives everyone a little something to look forward to.
Tom's love for those unique celebrations is a great reminder that the events people host here don't just leave memories for their guests. Sometimes they leave a lasting impression on our staff, too.
And we think that's pretty cool.
Getting to Know Our Riverside Family
If you've been keeping up with our blogs lately, you've probably noticed that we're making more of an effort to introduce the people who work here.
We spend so much time sharing beautiful event photos, decorating ideas, and information about our Preferred Vendors that sometimes we forget to introduce the people you might actually see when you walk through our doors!
Our staff is a huge part of what makes Riverside feel like Riverside.
We have people who genuinely enjoy working together, and we think that shows in the atmosphere we've created.
Tom has been part of that for two and a half years now, and we're happy to have him on the team.
We also love getting to hear everyone's different answers when we ask about their favorite things at Riverside.
Some people love the weddings. Others love the community events. And apparently, if there's a luau with fire performers on the calendar, Tom's probably going to be pretty excited about it!
Thanks for Being Part of The Riverside Family, Tom!
We want to give Tom a big thank you for being part of the Riverside Pavilion team for the past two and a half years.
We're grateful for the people who make up our little Riverside family, and it's always nice to hear that our employees enjoy working here just as much as we enjoy having them.
Here's to more great events, more memories, and hopefully a few more luaus with fire performers!
And to everyone reading, we hope you're enjoying getting to know the people behind Riverside Pavilion.
Next time you're here for an event, you might just recognize a familiar face from one of our blogs!
